Now that I’m back from the holidays, I’m getting down to business, getting things ready for the next couple of months. I wanted to share a few upcoming Kat Eye Studio events so you don’t miss them!
Intro to iPhoneography
The next session of my three hour Intro to iPhoneography class is this coming Saturday, January 11 from 9am to Noon in Corvallis, Oregon. This course covers the basics of using the iOS device camera and editing with Snapseed, and I’ve also expanded it to cover file transfer between devices and computer. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and want to get into mobile photography, this course is a great introduction! Register through Corvallis Parks & Rec.
Smartphone Art Workshop
The next one-day Smartphone Art workshop will be on Saturday, February 22 at Sequoia Gallery + Studios in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is the workshop you want if you want to start creating amazing works of art from photographs on your iOS device. You learn how to get the most out of the device camera, file management strategies, basic photo editing, and editing beyond photography, learning to blend apps to create new and interesting art. This workshop has gotten a great response from photographers and artists in other mediums! Full workshop description can be found here and you can register through Sequoia Gallery + Studios.
PS – I LOVE teaching this course. Do you want to bring it to your area? Contact me!
Liberate Your Art 2014 Postcard Swap
If you’re connected to me on social media at all, then you know it’s time for the fourth annual Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap! If you’ve never participated before, you’ll find this swap is a great way to connect with other artists and get your art out into the world. You send me five postcards with your art printed on it, and you will receive six in return (one each from 5 other participants plus one from me). The swap deadline is Saturday, March 15 this year. Get more info and sign up for the email list with all of the details here.
You’ll be seeing more about the swap here on the blog in the next couple of months. I’m so excited, this swap is one of my favorite times of the year. Don’t miss out on participating in this fun event!

Hey Kat-
Do you have any iphone class in similar pdf format to the eye classes?
Still procrastinating jumping on the phone bandwagon. I have pics of my feet-that’s about it.
Hi Susan! I don’t have an eCourse yet for Smartphone Art. I’d like to get on that but haven’t had time! I do have info to help you posted, though. Visit the Mobile Tutorials page for more info.
Or, one more idea, you and Lee can host me for a workshop in Maine! 🙂 I would love that.
is it me or is there not a LIBERATE YOUR ART button yet and I just can’t find it??!!
Yep! There is one. You can find it here: http://kateyestudio.com/liberate-your-art-button-code
