Ah, our time studying square format is wrapping up. I love that I have a new crop in my arsenal of composition tools after this exploration. I know I will be using square format more, how about you?
Thank you to all of you who participated both in the link up and the Flickr group! The images were fantastic, and I’m sharing a few today. I found I was drawn to simple images, with one main subject and little background detail. I find these harmonious and peaceful.

I don't think I've ever knowingly cropped to square format. I'll give it a try..
I love the round images in the square format. They really work. These are both lovely.
This was such a fun challenge. I had always avoided the square crop – now I'm a bit in love with it.
Thanks so much for giving me another tool in my photography bag! I love this format, especially with curved lines. Can't wait till your next tutorial.
This was really an amazing challenge, Kat! I never even thought about squares before you mentioned it, then I tried it and liked it 🙂 And I'm sure I'll do this more often now! I love your selection so much – wonderful images!
I really like this idea, but have yet to really work with it. I can see another "collection" forming in my Adobe Bridge!
There is a feeling for each orientation. Circle, square and rectangle each come with their own personalitites and a Story could change a bit going from one format to another. Great worrk!
