Your Art Here

Walking along the street this weekend I came across an interesting antique shop. The empty frames propped up outside the door seemed to be saying, “Your art here.”

I’ve been thinking a lot about art on the wall. Since my exhibition ended, I’ve been moving around frames and hanging prints up in our house. I’ve also recently really dug into learning more about creating fine art prints of my own (more on that later). So it’s no wonder I saw the empty frames and thought about what I would put in them.

What art would you put in these frames? Would it be something you have created? Would it be a recent work, or an older favorite?

PS – I’ve also been playing around with creating presets in Lightroom. I’ve created a preset called “Your Art Here” which I used in the processing of these two images. If you would like to try it, you can click here to download.

Looks like a really cool shop with some nice finds in it. I would probably look through my photos and see what I have first, if nothing seems to fit the frames, I would then head out to find a photo to take that would…maybe.

Thanks for sharing, wish I could use your “preset”.

Fun! Thanks for the template. I think I would use one as a photo prop! 🙂 “Your face here” type of thing. Such a great find!

Oooh, good idea. I only thought “photo op” not “photo prop” when I walked by. Too bad!!

Awesome frames! I might do both, look for an older one or create a new piece of ‘art’ photo with editing to fit the style of the frame.

That’s a cool idea… create the art to fit the frame! I hadn’t though of that.

Great frames! There’s nothing like antique frames as the frames of today are so poorly produced. Either that or the good ones are way overpriced. I just don’t think anything compares to the the look that you get with antique frames!
