Back to Play

The thing I’m realizing about play, and the resulting creativity that comes along, is that you need time. Unstructured time to just see what happens. No agenda. Come what may…

Here’s the result of my play this morning. I call it “Lifeblood.”

20130502-081432.jpg

This was created with some new apps I’ve been playing with recently, Handy Photo, Percolator and Repix, along with some of my mainstay apps, Glaze and Snapseed.

It feels good to play again.

Linking up to Paint Party Friday this week. Hi everyone!

There is much to be said for the value of play. I need more of that in my own life!

    Lovely.

I think we vastly underestimate the value of play.

What amazing effects you can get with apps. I must get myself a smartphone!

It is a TON of fun. I joke that I got myself a new camera/art tool and it happens to have a phone attached to it. 🙂

Whenever I see images that look like trees I think of family trees. This would be a excellent background for somesort of family tree art. Love it!

Kat, this is amazing. I am going to have to start playing a lot more. I have the time so I just have to let loose and play. Sounds like fun.

Yes, let go of the expectations, and just see what happens. New things are born that way!

This looks alot like the things I have been doing on masa paper and I bet it isn’t half as messy. Lovely!

      Haha, yes! Definitely less messy!

Nice one, Kat! Play is so important and fulfilling. Its easy to get wrapped up in whatever and forget the importance of making time for play. Beautiful

Love your “play” painting. Without play we don’t grow as artists and art becomes mechanical. HPPF
