This scooter sighting digs back into my archives, from a little town of Vigevano, outside of Milan. I think this may be the only pink scooter I captured during my time in Italy! Isn’t it a great color?
As I was looking at it with my son yesterday morning, we remembered another story that involved pink from Vigevano. After exploring the town, we stopped for gelato on our walk back to the car. Patrick was enticed by the delightful pink color of a certain gelato, Pompelmo Rosa. Not knowing much Italian at the time, we had no idea that “pompelmo rosa” means “pink grapefruit.” It was the most horrible tasting gelato ever. We all had to try it, just to see what he was complaining about. He learned his lesson – you don’t pick gelato by color alone!
Picking scooters by color, however, is an entirely different story.
Here’s another scooter sighting, shared with me from Kim in Australia. She saw this cute Vespa in a store in Akaora, New Zealand, and thought of me. Thanks Kim!!
If you have a scooter sighting, take a pic and email it to me! I’d love to share your scooter sighting here.

What a beautiful pink scooter! But then, pink is my favorite color. Not that I don’t love other colors too…but if pressed to pick just one, it’s always pink.
As scooters go, I have to say pink is a pretty awesome color. I used to think I wanted a red Vespa, but I might have to shift to pink!
This is beautiful, Kat! I’d definitely love to have this one! And that little scooter is so cute, too!
I think you’ve surpassed yourself in the scooter department here Kat. And I love that paving with its beautiful colours.
Thanks Angie! It’s the pink. How can you get a bad picture of a cute pink scooter?
I yearn for a pink Vespa! And the weirdest gelato I have had in Italy is
“Brunello”…it is okay to drink…not so much when it’s frozen 🙂

I think I would rather drink the wine and eat a fruity gelato too. 🙂 I did have a Reisling gelato in the Rhine River Valley of Germany. Not bad, but again, better as a drink!
I’d LOVE to have a scooter…and a pink one at that.
I love that pink scooter. What a charmer. What a boost to the spirits every time you’d see it and go for a ride. Pure delight on two wheels!
I love that: “Pure delight on two wheels!” Absolutely. Can’t you just see a cute pink helmet with it?
oh this is just adorable! such a beauty… Love scooters they make me happy!
I want to go to Italy now!!! I have been there many years ago, 1993, and i loved it. I think it’s time to revisit!
I love these scooters. I went into a store once and asked who the scooter outside belonged to so I could shoot a senior in her prom dress with it. If you don’t mind someone being in it I can email it to you. I also did shots in front of the business to give to the owner so it’s a tad commercial looking.
I don’t mind at all! Send me the back story with it, and I’ll post that too. Sounds like a fun image!
What email would you like it sent to?
