Great tips Kat – thanks so much. I absolutely love the Christmas tree shadow one – for some reason it made me think of "A Christmas Carol".

Wonderful pictures! I had no idea how much goes into taking the different shots. Thanks for sharing all that information.

The towns look magical at night with all the decorations and the trees. Such a wondrous time of year! 🙂

I am so lame and I skip all the technical stuff. I just love to look at your photos! I love your eye and your perspective…I don't want to learn how to do it myself. I just like to enjoy you doing it! 🙂

ahhh what wonderful shots of light and lights…gorgeous stuff!!! I got all excited when I saw the streets all lit up like that…as I just finished a watercolor workshop where all we did were night scenes and lights at night..
You make it look so easy:)

Great post. I love trying to capture light bokeh too – is tricky down this end of the earth though when it is still light late into the evening.

    LOVE that tree in Milan!

Thanks so much for the tip on the twinkle lights! I have multi-colored lights on my tree and apparently it really only works with the white or yellow lights. I had lots of fun working with this technique though, thanks!

Love the shots. Do you think you could mention what type of lens you are using when you do your shots?
    Thanks!
