Flowers, Postcards and a GIVEAWAY!!

Bath had the most beautiful flowers. In window boxes, hanging from streetposts, in roundabouts – just everywhere. Bath does flowers so well that they are routinely excluded from the “Britain in Bloom” contest for towns, since they always win. For good reason, everyone wins when a town is so full of beautiful, happy blooms.

I love flower pictures – they just make me happy. So I had some postcards printed with a few of my favorites that I’ve posted here. I got frustrated a few weeks ago when I wanted to send a postcard with a nice photo to someone, something with just a pretty picture and not a touristy one, and I looked all around Milan and couldn’t find anything. Along came a discount from Moo (an awesome printing company!) in my email inbox, so I decided to make my own!I went through my posted photos and realized that, for all of the flower photos I take, I really don’t share that many of them here. I will have to rectify that! But here are the posts to show the photos I chose a bit clearer:
Making Ideas Real from Murten, Switzerland
Blissful Color from Barcelona, Spain
Abundance from Split, Croatia
Illumination from Nice, France
Stepping Along Flowers from Varenna, Italy

I am sooo happy with the result, I thought I would give away a set of them here. This set of five beautiful 4x6inch color postcards could be yours – to send, to frame, to stick on the fridge or at your desk – whatever will make you smile! All you have to do is enter the giveaway.

Here’s how to enter:
– Leave a comment on this blog post by 9pm PST Sunday 5-Sep. Please be sure to include a way for me to contact you (a link to a blog, an email, a blogger profile, or an identifier if I already have your email) so that I can get your mailing address if you win. If I can’t contact you, I’ll pick someone else.
– That’s it!

I’ll pick the winner on Monday morning, Italy time, and will let you know. So enter, and you could be smiling at these lovely blooms in person soon. Spread the smiles, tell your friends too!

They look great! I was thinking of trying out Moo as well, might have to give them a try. I used to love sending handwritten letters and cards but haven't done so for years now, might have to revive this habit, there's nothing like receiving a card or a letter through the post.

Kat, these are beautiful floral photos and I love that you made your own postcards when you couldn't find non-touristy ones! That's the way I would think, too. Whoever wins these postcards will be very lucky! Have a great day.

Hello, Kat. Glad you enjoyed blooms in Britain. My next-door town Harrogate has won many times too, where has a beautiful valley garden and RHS garden that are to be proud, but just the ordinary streets and buildings have full of flowers all over. (hope this new government knock off the council workers’s job so that they could maintain the beautiful streets!) I bet you would enjoy taking photos here too. I love yours, in particular the one in Barcelona. Stunning colours and composition. Happy creating. xm

Since I am your sister…I shouldn't have to be selected to receive artwork like the masses. Even if I am not selected to be the recipient of your beautiful flower photos I get a copy anyway right? πŸ™‚ I love all your photos…you should make all kinds of lovely art covered paraphanalia and sell it!

Wow! I am a huge fan of your art! Your blog is always so interesting and inspiring to read. I love the front door post! You are so right about that door, but I have to admit I didn't notice some of those things until you pointed them out. But, this was a great lesson for me to look more closely at my surroundings and make more observations! One of my favorite stores has a bright pink door, and every time I go there I think, "I am going to paint my front door pink." I haven't done that yet because we are moving, but I plan on giving my door some personality at our new home, and you have given me the extra encouragement I need to follow thru! I love your insights! The flower photography is stunning! I cannot go outside because I am allergic to heat so I am trying to fill my house with flowers instead–painting as many as I can! Thanks for sharing your talent and insights with all of us!

PS–I think you could publish a book combining your photography and thoughtful reflections. You really should send in a proposal to a art photography publisher!!! All your experiences are so unique and inspiring! I'm not saying this to try to win your postcards. I really mean it.
