It’s no secret, I love photographing potted flowers! The flowers at the Glacier National Park lodges were fabulous, especially at the park administrative offices, off to the side of the Glacier Park Lodge on the east side of the park. I made a beeline for the flowers as soon as I glimpsed them. Heaven!
This mail room scene was especially interesting to me. I love how you can see a bit of what’s going on inside through the open window.
I love the connections that come out of my photography. I chatted with someone who worked in the mail room, after he saw me taking pictures of the flowers, and he told me where I could find more beautiful arrangements. It was a nice exchange, adding a personal element to my memory of these flowers and this place.
Have you found the same? Does photography open doors for you?

I agree, those flowers are fab!
Interestingly enough…last week I was taking photographs of an abandoned fish stand and the owner drove up and said that I was welcome any time on to his back property where there is a lake and some very vintage buildings…he gave me his number…and also said that it is an area where many of the local photographers love to come and shoot….not knowing this gentleman, I will definitely go with a friend…but I can’t wait to check out his property with my camera.
Awesome story! I hope you get some great photos there.
I don’t know about opening doors, but photography certainly has made connections for me. People make comments that range from “why on earth are you taking a picture of that?” to “I noticed that too and I’m so glad someone”s taking a picture of it.” Interesting conversations invariably ensue in either case.
Those flowers are beautiful, and I love the red watering can.
I get those questions too, and the occasional person who wants to know what equipment I’m using and if I like it.
